[HOWTO] Save Screenshots in Ubuntu Automatically when PrintScreen key is pressed

When you press the PrintScreen key in Ubuntu, you will see a gnome-screenshot dialog box with options to save the image or Copy it to clipboard. This function is great unless of course, you mistakenly press the key several times day which is really irritating. How about silently saving the image to some predefined location rather than popping up the dialog?

To achieve this, we will use a command-line screenshot tool called scrot. You must install this via Synaptic Package manager or from the terminal by executing sudo apt-get install scrot. You may need to enable additional repositories if you do not find the program in the list.

How to fix a corrupt download (Jaunty Jackalope CD Image)

I downloaded Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope ISO and discovered that the file was not downloaded properly. It was corrupt. It failed the md5 check and failed to install inside Sun VirtualBox.

I did not want to download the file again. I have a very poor internet connection. I had downloaded the file from http link with the help of wget.

The ISO was the size as specified in the site. I think this process works only if this holds true. Also, it needs to be available in the torrents. These hold true for the file I was trying to download.
